About the Girl

Oct 06, 2007 14:10

This blog started out in 2007 as a way to help me discover my dreams and develop goals. It soon grew to include pictures and stories of life along the way, and over time I have drawn up some of those goals.

Someone once told me to find what I love, and then find a way to make money doing it. When I started this blog, I was frustrated in my career as a graphic designer and hadn’t figured out what to do to remedy it.

Then we bought scooters, and a few months later, I suddenly had my one of my career goals set: own my own business selling specialty products for scooters, like scooter decals.

I’ve started the scooter decal business and plan to expand on it in so many ways, I don’t think I’ll be finished with the expansion even at the end of 2009. But I’m dedicated to making it successful and enjoyable for customers, so that’s okay. It’s always nice to have plans for what to do next, even when you’re not sure how you’ll find time to do it all.

Next year will also bring the arrival of a new family member – our first child. Hubby and I are so excited, and we’ll be moving into a larger home at the beginning of the year to make room. Hubby will also graduate with his bachelor’s degree in the spring, and we’re both going to start masters degree programs so that we’ll be able to teach.

That’s the other main goal I’ve set my heart on – being able to teach. Especially if I can teach online, and between the teaching and the scooter product selling, I’m hoping to be able to stay home with our child.

So what’s with the red sweater? Well, I happen to have a fabulous one, and I think it sums up my personality. Casual, soft, unique in its own ways but not that different from others. Plus, I mean the title as a statement — every person you meet can teach you something, and I use the name as a way to show I’m just another average girl. Average, but unique. Yet maybe some of my ramblings will inspire you to discover your own dreams, or just help you see life through someone else’s eyes.
